In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren
So. It was Christmas yesterday...
...and I got a lot of books!
...not all of them were fiction- I am, after all, a science geek.
But some of them were!
And they were some that I've been wanting read for a long, long time!
Now for a formal list:
Remarkable Creatures by Sean B. Carroll
A Life Decoded by J. Craig Venter (who created the first synthetic genome!)
Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin
On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee (The science behind food- yay AND yum!)
The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson (currently reading)
Tomorrow, when the War Began by John Marsden
Ascendant by Diana Peterfreund
Sea by Heidi R. Kling
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
My little sister has also recently got into reading, and was super psyched by the pile of Charlie Bone books that my parents got her. On the recommendation of someone I know who works at a bookstore, I also got her Skulduggery Pleasant. If anyone has read this/has siblings that have read this, I'd appreciate any comments on how you liked it!
Said little sister got me this from Dylan's Candy Bar:
Cute or what? I've been wearing it since I opened the wrapping paper :)
I hope you all had great mailboxes- happy holidays!
You should add 'Beautiful Darkness' to your list :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, you have 217 followers?!?! Wow.....
Have the best holiday ever.

Skulduggery Pleasant is very, very good, as are all of the Charlie Bone series. Hope your sister enjoys them all!
