Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly even hosted by Breaking the Spine that highlights upcoming releases that people are excited about.
Seeing as it's already out, this technically doesn't qualify, but Amazon hasn't dumped it in my eagerly waiting arms yet and I can't wait any longer.
I zipped through the first two books in about 48 hours and absolutely fell in love. This is an absolutely awesome series, combining my two favourite elements: fantasy, and a teensy bit of sci-fi. I also adore Kelley Armstrong for giving a love interest acne- realistic physicality at last! Steph Su Reads has a post on this that goes into further detail (which I heard about from Jami at YA Addict) but watching my friends and myself go through various stages of zittiness through the last years has hammered this particular point home: bad skin affects 99.99% of teenagers and it's ridiculous that 99.99% of teen protagonists don't have any.
Okay, rant over, and back to the book. The 'Darkest Powers' series is absolutely gripping, and I'm desperate to read more! Especially the Sabriel-esque necromancery parts. And the zitty love interest, of course. ;)
On a side note, sorry that I've been MIA for about a week now. I'm back at school and was in the deep end with mock exams. I've got a good three weeks until the real things, but I'm sorry to say that I won't be posting much until they're over; although I love this, my future college and career kinda depend on these. Thanks for your understanding!
